STACK Infrastructure announces new data centre campus for Malaysia

STACK Infrastructure, a leading US-based data center provider, has announced plans to develop a massive 220MW data center campus in Johor Bahru’s Iskandar Puteri, strategically located near the Singapore border. This expansion aims to meet the rising demand for hyperscale digital infrastructure, supporting the growth of cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) workloads in the region.

Driving Digital Growth & Economic Development

According to STACK APAC CEO, Preet Gona, this investment aligns with the company’s strategy to expand across APAC while supporting both established and emerging Tier 1 markets. He emphasized that the new Johor Bahru campus will not only serve global tech clients but also drive economic growth in the local community by creating jobs and attracting further investment. The first phase of the data center is expected to be operational by Q4 2026, reinforcing Malaysia’s ambitions to become a top-tier digital infrastructure hub in Asia. It will be powered by TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad). STACK’s 220MW Johor Bahru campus spans 10.8 hectares. It is equipped with redundant points of entry and a fiber ring connecting to multiple telco networks, providing scalability for businesses.
